Top 10 in The 2019 Australian Mono Awards

got some fab news this arvo.... my entry "Jurassic Times" (of Bluff Knoll in the Stirling Ranges) got Top 10 in the landscape category in the inaugural Australian and New Zealand photography competition - "The 2019 Mono Awards" , YAY. Thanks judges. And congrats to the overall winners for the two categories. http://www.capturemag.com.au/…/australia-and-new-zealand-s-…

This image was taken in Nov 2018 on my trip through the Great Southern region, including the stunning Stirling Ranges National Park. Bular Mial is the local Noongar name for Bluff Knoll, meaning "many eyes" and the day I was there, the mountain was getting buffered by incredibly strong winds (so strong it pushed me over a couple of times). The winds brought some stunning cloud formations over the mountain throughout the 2-3hours I was photographing it. The ancestral spirit of the mountain was certainly alive and well that afternoon. This image of Bluff Knoll here, with the mountain scene in the background and the beautiful tall grasstrees in the foreground, really reminds me of a classic scene from Jurassic Park...can anyone see a T-Rex :-)
